B.A. English/Secondary Education
Why Do I Teach?
Simply put, I teach because I value education, and its implications are far- reaching for our students. In addition, English class is where magic happens; our students learn to reason, speak, listen, write and approach the world from a critical standpoint. When students leave my class, if they are able to think through life's toughest situations and view the world in which we live more critically, I can truly rest assure that my job is done.
My Expectations of Students
My expectations are high. I expect each student to come to class with an attitude reflective of independent learning and hard work. Each student should be prepared to view the world from a different angle, be able to support such a view, and write about that view. While the standards are high, I am here every step of the way to help students get to where they need to be.
